WW Sones Junior Ltd was formed in 1976 by Bill Sones, having worked for his fathers landscaping company for years. He began trading from a small premises in Langley Moor, near Durham. The business grew quite rapidly into new premises on Littleburn Industrial Estate.
The range of skills and experience of our employees are demonstrated on a daily basis through the high quality services that we deliver to our extensive client base.
Many of these clients have elected to retain our services by negotiating continuation contracts or new contracts with the company. We hold our clients and customers in the highest esteem and show this by operating to top standards of customer care.
This is demonstrated by some of the long term contracts with key clients including CC Property Services for the grounds maintenance at Metrocentre in Gateshead, Akeler for the grounds maintenance at Doxford International Business Park, Sunderland, Wear Valley District Council for the grounds maintenance of the Wear Valley area and the University of Sunderland for grounds maintenance of the University and College grounds.
One of the first contracts secured was for Leech Homes at Newton Hall, followed by bigger contracts such as the renovation of Cornthwaite Park in Whitburn and landscaping for Coulson Estates at Langley Moor.
For the Cornthwaite Project, they had a company double decker bus which Bill would take the lads to work on.
It was during these years that the relationship was built between Sones & Michael Hogan of Deerness Fencing. After eight years of successful trading, Bill Sones downed tools and became office based.
Over the years WW Sones Junior Ltd worked on some prestigious North East sites including the landscaping construction at the Metro Centre and Doxford International Business Park.
